Poetry of the Revolution : Responses to the Avant-Garde: Post 9/21
Since the section on Kruchenykh and after reading Stein and Marlow, I think I just need to stop trying to make sense out of their writing. They all appear to be trying to get over preconceptions about literature. I did actually enjoy the Cubist poems and Stein's work a little better than Kruchenykh's. These writings have a rhythm to them that Kruchenykh's didn't have. A lot of the time when i was reading, i kept running into some passages that appeared to rhyme at first, but when I went back and looked they really didn't. These writers didn't seem to be focusing on the meaning of the words as much as how they roll of the tongue and how they make you feel on a deeper level.
