From networked art, some ideas i had on it were:
Because of the expanding possibility of arts being networked, the networking of the art was as important, if not more importance than the other forms of art. I think this is controversial because of the possibility that this art could deemphasize personal expression in art, like we saw with the Mac Low and his want for elements of non control, but taken to a different level.
Another aspect of art they explored was subjectivity: the veriety of response the networks could get from their participants. No two little drawings were alike, like in the portayal of Stalin:
Because of the strong kind of ethos this man is held in, the drawings varied significantly.
I would think that rorschach's ink blot tests were influenced by this style of networked art, or vice-versa.
The seven points made in "the happenings" was a GOOD THING TO READ. It covered the topic pretty thuroughly. Basically, life is art, it just depends on how you want to look at it.
I'm beginning to notice the political side of these artmovements a little more, at least the specifics
To me the fluxists seemed to be almost purely mathematical. By the name itself, I think thats a good hint, yeah? It allowed them to use their skills in chance and mathematics to create something that they put their heart in; an element of self-expression from someone with a left-dominated brain.
