9/21
In todays reading, we are hearing of the hardships women endured during the 1920s in every aspect of their lives. It is interesting to me that the Pope wished to give women the right to vote before many other authorities. As I was reading the Surrealist Women piece, one woman they spoke about whose poem caught my attention was Fanny Beznos. Her poem, I GO, THE WIND PUSHING ME ALONG, was very inspiring in my opinion. She uses a great deal of different techniques from making certain words uppercase, to bolding some words, to use of exclamation points; she is strong at getting her point across. Overall, the main point I captured from todays readings where that women struggled during this time even more so than men. Although both were working toward a common goal, it seemed to be more difficult for women because of the negativity associated with women in the workforce. I believe these women deserve a great deal of credit for putting themselves out there to work toward something they strongly believed in.
