10/19
As many have already stated, the readings this week were quite lengthy. The article that caught my attention and I seemed to understand the most was Manifestos Manifest. Vicente Huidorbo seems to understand and support the original beauty of poetry for no other reasons but to appreciate it. I found it neat how he referred to what Plato had to say about poets being infused with enthusiasm which they, through words, pass on to ordinary people. I agree with Huidorbo when he speaks about poets bringing life to that which is not alive. I believe this holds truth because the way poets use language can be inspiring and encourage people to view things they take for granted and even help them appreciate everyday beauty. Huidorbo also does a good job of encouraging new poets to continue making strides in the right direction.
