10/19

I got a little lost in the length of the readings for this week. In the Manifestos Manifest it seemed like the author was trying to convey that thought needs to be controlled. It reflects our inner life and entails the memory, imagination and judgment among other things. “Pure psychic automatism…complete spontaneity, doesn’t exist… all movement… is a transformation of a preceding movement.” Even when an author feels like they are imagining something new or even dreaming, their stream of thought is still controlled. “Poetry must be created by the poet, with all the force of his fully awakened senses, and the poet must play an active, not passive, role in the construction and coordination of his poem.”
