10/19

I have decided to focus my blog post on the Manifestos Manifest literature. Toward the end there is a poem and after reading it i focused more on the explaination of the peom rather than the poem itself.

"The is no such thing as a poem unless it entails the unaccustomed. From the moment a poem becomes a customary thing, it does not inspire emotion, it does not make us marvel, it doesn't throw us off balance; it ceases to be a poem because throwing us off balance, filling us with marvel, stirring our emotional roots, are the most essential functions of poetry."

This quote from page 15 explains why peotry is what it is. If poetry became an everyday thing that anyone can do easily, then it becomes boring and more of a chore rather than something that you read and you have your mind blown. Poetry needs to be something that is special and new everytime you read some new piece.
