I am going to be honest and say that I did not really understand the articles and the meaning they were trying to convey. The first surrealist manifesto talked a lot about dreams and the imagination. I think that surrealism may be about taking the imagination and turning it into literature. I think that since surrealism came away from Dada that the two movements are similar in some aspects of branching away from the idea of Art.
