10/19
I am a big fan of surrealism and while the writings can be a bit difficult, they are a good read none the less. It's very easy to see by reading the Surrealist Manifesto that the surrealists were trying to break down all the walls that the art world had set up. They really were nonconformists in the truest sense of the word. They were also trying to give very vivid and detailed descriptions of dreams, which I think they succeeded at wildly. I like to think that the surrealists took their “nonconformity” to an even greater level in that they brought in this brand new dreamscape to make use of in their writings.
