Suicide Circus 9/14

While reading the opening of the book it was clear that the authors really appreciated Kruchenykh's poetry and wanted to bring it out in English to share with everyone. Honestly while reading these poems I had no idea what they were talking about. Poetry has been hard for me to grasp for a long time and It just didn't seem very avant-garde to me but mostly because I didn't know what they were saying. I think going through this style in class would be very beneficial for me understanding what it is that makes this truly avant-garde. I thought that the way the poetry was set up and the typography of the words were very intriguing and made the poems stand out more. Some of the poems that I read seemed to be funny and some seemed to be sad and about love but then again I wasn't quite sure what the poet was trying to say in his meaning of the poems.
