Poetry of the Revolution : Responses to the Avant-Garde: 9/30

The main point that I got from the Puchner reading was that Dadaists weren't concerned with their own identity. They seemed to want to overcome the nationalist beliefs that were common during the first World War. It eventually spread to be an international movement which is impressive given the overall separation of countries during the war. Another Dadaist ideal that was emphasized often was importance of traveling through ideas and not remaining in one area of thought for too long. While futurists were very concerned with where they came from, the Dadaists wanted to do away with that type of thinking altogether as they viewed possibly as too conventional or intellectually centered.
