I found cubism interesting and reminiscent of the material I read by Kruchenyk. I’m not sure if I liked it as much as Kruchenyk however. I enjoyed Kruchenyk’s content more because there was more to it, but at the same time I really was intrigued by the simplicity and rhythm of Maclow’s work. As I observed in Kruchenyk’s poetry, there was less focus on the semantics and careful word choice, but rather more focus on the feeling and energy of the words. I felt this was even more evident in Maclow’s. Maclow chose simple words without very much variety. By doing this, Maclow was able to mix up the words in different orders to really experiment with the rhythm. By repeating words and interchanging the order Maclow’s emphasis manifests around the specific words he chooses and the reader knows exactly what words are important to the poet. This allows for the reader to not focus so much on the meanings of the word choice, but to instead read and experience the beat of the poem
