9/21 response
Reading Gertrude Stein was definitely an experience for me. I noticed in her first chapter she did a lot of repeating of either one word or a few words at a time. It confused me if she was trying to get that certain point across or that was just the style of that particular poem. Indeed these poems made no sense just like everything else we have been reading. But the one thing that did catch my attention was that her words were not words that I did not recognize, which was a huge relief to me. Also in the second part it almost seemed like she was trying to teach me how to write sentences and what each type of sentence was even if it didn’t make sense… This is how I preserved this… hopefully tomorrow in class I can get more clarification on some things.
