9/9 Response

The particular part in this reading which grasped my attention was when Marinetti spoke of women's rights. The time when he was writing this would have been more sensitive to the subject of women's rights, therefore, I consider Marinetti to be a pretty bold person. It's almost as if he was an author before his time because the things he was writing about then were most likely shocking to the readers. However, today, I believe his ideas and thoughts would be more widely accepted.
One particular quote which caught my attention was on page 89 when he stated "every right, every liberty should be given to women." you cry, "but the family must be preserved!" I wonder how readers of the time responded to this statement. I can only imagine that it would have been a debatable topic. Most authors probably would have been hesitant to publish things with such strong statements, especially given the events occuring at the time. However, Marinetti seemed to be an author who didn't mind letting people know exactly how he felt concerning even the most sensitive topics. In my opinion, he was an author ahead of his time.
