Thoughts for 9/9

I’m going to start off by saying that these readings are very hard for me to grasp. It is not an easy read in the first place, and second it’s a lot to take in all at once. Even though we do have two days to read it its still not enough for me to fully understand it all. I am going to do my best to put my thoughts out on what I think, but I cannot guarantee any of it is right or that it makes sense at all.
When I was reading the rest of the manifesto packet I came to realize that the writer not only had one thought but then another one to contradict itself which made it hard to understand exactly what the authors point is. I see a lot about how art has completely changed and people do not see it the same as they did before. Which makes sense about what we talked about in class, about how they want to erase the past and just start fresh because everything has changed so much. Everything in this packet always comes back to art and how the canvas needs to come to life especially in people’s faces and what we see on the train. I thought it was interesting how he thought about all of this.
Also, when reading the “Pegasus” poem by Marinetti I saw the connection between the “horizons” reading and this poem because it mentioned it a lot. When reading this poem I felt a lot of anger from him. Like he was angry with Pegasus. I couldn’t figure out why. I’m thinking maybe cause he can fly into the horizon and Marinetti cannot? I’m not quit sure though.
There were a lot of readings this time around and I feel like I connected more with these two in particular so I decided to write what I thought about these on the blog. I hope this makes sense, and im not completely off, but they are very interesting readings even though its not what im interested in. I feel like I can learn a lot from these readings and it will help me in the future.
