9/9 Reading Response

I enjoyed reading Marinetti's "Manifesto of the Futurist Woman" because of how he spoke of woman being more than just what men see them as. He started by stating how "men and women were neither superior nor inferior" which instantly caught my attention. There is one passage that I did question, "Feminism is a political error. Feminism is an intellectual error on the part of women, an error which their instinct will eventually recognize." Throughout the article he talks about how we need to hold women high instead of hold them in contempt. Why belittle feminism? I find Marinetti a wise man of his time and I feel he definitely is a futurist and discussing issues in his literature that the vast majority of people did not find appropriate of his time. I enjoyed reading Marinetti's views on not wanting women to have an arm full of flowers or hold on to their soldier men and rather having more Joan of Arcs and Amazons or Cleopatras.
