I had trouble getting through the lengthy selection of "How to Write" this week. I didn't mind reading it in small passages as much but reading close to 100 pages is a challenge. Part of the reason it is so hard to get through is that it has very little flow, it is very stop, start, stop, and then start again. The repetition of words and sentences also got to me after a while. It was just sort of a slog to read through. This is a case of something that I respect more than I enjoy. I like the fact that she is trying something different in terms of language and rhythm, but it just doesn't make for a very good read.
