First off, I thought this article was much easier to understand. I thought it was interesting to see how Marinetti and his manifestos influenced the Russian futurists. It was cool to see how they integrated the Italian ideas into their communist Russian society, and then within that society had differing opinions and ideas of futurism. Ego-futurism was the literary scene, and embraced the fact that they took ideas from Marinetti. Another Russian sect was the cubo-futurists who believed they had their start in earlier groups of experimental poets. I liked the way the author set up the article so that it briefly explained Marinetti followed by the views of both sides of the Russian spectrum. It shows how they took Marinetti’s ideas and made them their own. An example would be the original sound language, trans rational language, and Marinetti’s words of freedom.
