12/2

In Craig Saper’s Networked Art, one of the most interesting and creative things I read was about Maurice Lemaitre puzzle like books. His use of combining his poetry with objects such as matches, bottles or any sorts of scraps from everyday life really brought a different feeling to his books. Thinking about books that are primarily visual like the objects Lemaitre used brings me back to elementary school days. Then it was harder to read such complex things now he’s simplified to the level of a small child but at the same time it leaves his stories much more open for interpretation. You have to use the visualizations to create your own story, and “figure out” what he was attempting to say. Unfortunately I was not able to read Nico Vassilacis’ “Staring towards Vispoetics”, for whatever reason some of those links don’t seem to come up for me, it comes up as navigation to website was canceled.
