11/2

As I was reading from the book for today, I noticed what I was reading seemed more like a story. It flowed nicely, but at the same time, you can tell it's fictional. I found it interesting how at the beginning of each chapter there is dialog between characters almost outlining what you are going to read about. It caught my attention that the characters in the novel are the ones creating the plot and what is about to happen next depends on what they decide at the beginning of each chapter. This seems to be an interesting and very different way of thinking about what a novel is. I can't say I have read any novels quite like Fernandez's The Museum of Eterna's Novel. As I do understand it is a unique way of creating a different form of art, I am not really grasping the point of the extra dialog between characters. I feel that this could confuse readers and potentially inhibit the value of the story altogether.
