11/18

Reading from the Networked Art book made me realize artists during the 1970s were ready for something different that would make them stand out as individuals. I found the punk zines idea very interesting. The sign that read Big Dada is watching obviously was meaningful to many authors at the time during the avant garde movement. This was an interesting way for people to get across their political and personal ideas without coming across as overly offensive. The people who came up with these ideas probably didn't realize how much of an effect they would have on our society for many years to come. However, they are still very popular in many aspects of politics, entertainment, art, etc... It is neat to understand that the idea isn't one someone instantly thought of, there is a great deal of meaning behind it.
