Reading this novel my initial thought was regarding the way in which he was writing. The idea of having this relationship between the reader and the artist seemed to be put into a type of model based program with the idea of "receivable" during the first chapter. It seemed to be in essay form almost, explaining the basic idea behind art and then here are the ways in which it is set up and how it is interpreted. I found it hard to read at first because of this style, it did not seem very engaging for me which made it a little difficult. This was another style of writing I am not particularly used to reading.
