Response 10/26
The Museum of Eterna's Novel was nothing like I have ever read before. I found it very interesting how he kept writing about the novel without it actually being a traditional novel. A novel to me is something that tells a story and engages you by having different types of characters and usually involving some sort of event. Fernandez played on that idea but more of a new twist to the novel. It seemed as though he was making all the characters that were in the novel real and alive, as though they were real people he was talking about. I found that very interesting especially when he was explaining about The Man who Feigned to Live, which was a character that was almost considered a bystander to the novel. He often referred to them as being alive because he was writing the words and once the words stopped, the characters would then die. I thought is was a very different take on a novel but definitely interesting. The author writes that this book would be the best novel you will read and the worst. I think that it definitely takes on those characteristics because it is not what I expected at all.
