Echoes of Surrealism

Nowhere is the effect of Surrealist experiments more observable than in music. Whether the mid-century experiments with what Dizzy Gillespie called "Bebop," the drug-induced/referenced states of Psychodelic rock, or in the dream-state conposition of the Neutral Milk Hotel's Aeroplane over the Sea, we are constantly bombarded with our discontent with surface reality.
