I love that the women of the dada movement were just as creative as the men, but it they had to struggle to gain the same amount of respect like Hanna Hoch. She was a central figure in the dada movement in Berlin and the people around her, did not accept or respect her photography as they should have. She was creating this new medium and a new way to express herself. I find it ironic that the dada isn't as progressive as I had once thought. I had this notion that because all these artist wanted to break art down and change the view of it, that maybe women would be allowed in on it, and share the experience equally. Not belittle the talent. This kind of changes my views of the dada, but only a little.
