10/5 Response
Reading the interview with Marcel Duchamp I found it interesting how he explained each piece of work that have become controversial to the question. Is that art? I find it interesting for his "Pharmacy" piece, he had a piece of landscape that somebody had already painted it and Duchamp put a red and green dot which stood for the pharmaceutical jars. While reading I wondered how that was allowed, how can an artist take somebody else's painting add two things and then call it their own. I find it an interesting style of painting and can not help but wonder if it was a message of some kind. Also he talks about how he was siting in a diner eating and he just walked up to a picture on the wall and signed his name. Reading the Experimental art I cannot help but notice similarities between what the manifesto was saying to how Duchamp experimented with his own style of art work.
