When reading Holocaust by Charles Reznikoff I found his work to be very eerie and often times very gruesome in the ways he described the events occurring. The way he described the scenes in his poetry were so vivid and unusual it was almost as if I were there watching. It reminded me of movies that I had seen such as the boy in stripped pajamas and other films about the holocaust that I’ve seen in previous history classes. The poetry was so gripping it actually felt as though it were more of a story that poetry and at some points had me not wanting to read any more because reading such things makes you really not want to think about the things that went on back then. Reznikoff really brought these horrific events to a new intellectual level, and I can’t get the pictures of what was happening out of my head
