<(--9/30--)>
Dadaist saw themselves as what Marinetti was calling for in Italy, and claimed "Manifestos and statements of belief seem to us only to have been written to illustrate the scale of the abyss which separates a dream form the which-according to Baudelaire-is not its sister: action," Dadaists saw themselves as the bite to Marinetti's bark. What I especially like about the Dadaist methode is their need to do away with old ideas and tradition. The dadaists mark to change from art as a skill to art as a preference; they in fact, ridiculed the high class for their arrogance and self-riteousness, and made art accessable to the average person. They used common items for their mediums as well as their focus: newspaper, garbage, drawings of machines. What I think they did by supporting the ability to make art out of anything, was to encourage everyone to participate in Dada, and in this, Dadaist were pretty political. Was the inteded meaning, to make artists out of everyday people?
