In "Museum of Eterna's Novel," the Plot is almost impossible to follow, and the characters, such as Eterna, the President, and the Traveler, are almost impossible to undestand. This is becasause the authors mind goes on so many tangents and rants. But this is precicely the point of the book, not to understand the story, but to gain insight in to the author's mental habits and personality. Becasue that's his goal, its only naturla that he would gravitate towards a stream of conciousness style of writing that the surrealits first experimented with. So when I'm asked if this is a novel, I would say no. This is because its more like a diary; its not an insight in to a story, Its an insight in to an author. And he probably felt the same way, since he title'd the book "the museum of etrna's novel," and not Eterna's novel. The story, I think, is basically a way for him to start making connections, and start writing about himself.
