Creation poetry is the complete antithesis to any sort of “normal” poetry. I love the freedom that comes from this style. You, the writer, does not have to follow any sort rules. It is the opposite of how William Carlos Williams would think. He said, in so many words, that poems need structure in order to be good. Too many ideas would distract us, and we would never a “purpose” to our poetry. I have to disagree though. Total freedom in writing forces you to outdo yourself every time write. Huidobro said that in created poetry you have to construct each image, concept and situation. Completely new and different ideas will be able to evolve and it will lead to new creations. I realize that sounds a bit redundant, but you know what I mean.
