When we had to buy our books, the one book I was super excited to read was this Holocaust book by Charles Reznikoff. Like I have stated in earlier posts history is just not my thing, but when it comes to the Holocaust I am all for learning about it for some reason. Each poem is so sad and filled with terrible things that I cannot even imagine going through or knowing anyone who would have gone through that.
Even thinking about what the holocaust has done to people makes me sick; let alone getting a mental image from these poems. It is all so fascinating to me and I am really excited to talk about these poems in class, because this is something I know about and interests me.
