response for 9/16

on the suicide circus i found the writing to have many meanings, but to understand those meaning you would of had to been in the contextual tim eof the readings. I find it very interesting but for me hard to understand. Especially i think constantly about how much is lost in the possibly multiple translations. Imagine translating a work to transrational poetry which mixes roots of words and suffixs from different languages, and then tries to minimalize that, i dont think you can honestly. I liked some of the individual stanzas in the book " oh galoshad friends whistlers of death it's not the heart but you old ears were schismed

you're used to hearing words, but where're your
speachmakers who've kept silent all their lives"
I thought this was very telling of the futurist movement their basic argument was who made your language, nobody knows, so therefore how could you illegitimize the futurist language.

to the Ironiad i found this poem to be less like a jazz songs music and more like the jazz song lyrics it was all over the place, but in the end the man forced himself on what i think was an idea of a perfect woman or at least dreaming while having sex with another woman. The beat was incomplete with no down beats maybe the rhythem was lost in translation but i didnt feel it.

ON russian futurism and the Soviet State I thought this was a perfect article to bring everything together the historical context, and the rise of russian futurism out of italian futurism was very interesting, but i agree with the russians some of these ideas were flying all over the place, but once marinetti put the ideas into the context of art it was a proverbial rat race and in the end it doesnt matter where it started all that matters is the progression of the idea of pushing norms and horizons.
